Automate picking and packing using intelligent robotic systems

Do you need efficient and flexible secondary packaging at your production line? The robot of the automation system picks the products from the conveyor and places them into a box, thereby improving productivity.

In its simplest form, the picking cell can be implemented with just a single robot, whereas a high-capacity system may include a machine vision system, up to four picking robots picking and pre-grouping items and a robotic arm which picks the separate groups into a box. Completed boxes or open trays may be stacked or loaded on a dolly trolley or a pallet.

The picking and packaging solutions are especially well suited for production lines with high production volumes or a high number of products with regular product changes. Thanks to their modular structure, Orfer’s picking and packing solutions can be used in many kinds of industrial case packing applications for the case packing of cups, film packaging, cardboard tubs or bags.

The products can be picked from a line, there may be several products in parallel or an individual product may be at a random position on the conveyor belt. A machine vision system is used to identify the location and position of the products to be picked. A machine vision system can also be used to control product quality based on the shape, size or other criteria and to reject the product, if necessary.
