ROBOTIC PALLETIZING SYSTEMS

Automate palletizing with Orfer’s advanced robotic palletizing systems

After the automation of the first sections of the production line has been completed, the optimal turnaround time can be achieved by the automation of the end of the line.

Orfer has been delivering robotic palletizing systems since 1995. The compact palletizing systems equipped with Kawasaki robots optimize the use of space in logistics. Robotic palletizing systems reduce manual labor, improve accuracy and reduce losses, making the process faster and bringing cost savings.

The systems are fitted with product-specific grippers. Intelligent single or multiple-location palletizing systems are available, and the degree of automation varies from semiautomatic to fully automatic systems. We also provide the necessary auxiliary equipment for complete solutions to maximize the level of automation and efficiency.

Frequently asked questions about Orfer’s robotic palletizing systems

What is a robotic palletizing system?

A robotic palletizing system is an automatic robotic system that places products, packaging or boxes on pallets efficiently and accurately. It improves the process speed and accuracy when compared to manual palletizing. Automation of a labor-intensive process frees up staff to carry out duties which cannot be replaced with automation.

How does a robotic palletizing system work?

The system utilizes a robot programmed to pick and place products on the pallet according to a programmed pattern. It may use suction cups or mechanical grippers to pick the products.

What are the main benefits of robotic palletizing systems?

•Efficiency and speed: Robots can work very fast without breaks. •Accuracy and repeatability: The system reduces errors and ensures consistent palletizing. •Occupational safety: Robots can handle heavy and repetitive tasks, thereby reducing the physical burden and accident risks of employees. •Cost savings: Automation saves on labor costs in the long run.

What kinds of products can robotic palletizing systems handle?

Robotic palletizing systems can be designed to handle a wide variety of products, such as boxes, trays, sacks and even items of irregular forms. The systems can be customized for different types of products.

How is a robotic palletizing system work integrated into an existing production line?

The integration depends on the existing lines and production process. Orfer’s robotic palletizing systems can be connected seamlessly with other automation systems and programmed to work with them.

Can the same robotic palletizing system be used for different kinds of products and pallet patterns?

Orfer’s robotic palletizing systems can be programmed for different pallet patterns, pallets and products. Both of them can be changed by using the programs of the machine. If the structure of the products to be handled changes significantly, the robot’s tool can be replaced. Pallet patterns can be changed the same way, and when a new pallet model is taken into use, the pallets are changed either manually or automatically, depending on the system’s level of automation.

What is the typical service life of a robotic palletizing system?

A well-maintained robotic palletizing system may operate for up to 20 years or longer, depending on the intensity of use and the production environment conditions.

Where are Orfer’s robotic palletizing systems manufactured?

Orfer’s automation systems are designed, manufactured and tested in Finland. We only use responsible cooperation partners.

Can the user interface be modified?

Orfer’s informative user interface can be modified to provide the required languages and user levels.

Is the robotic palletizing system scalable?

Yes, several Orfer systems can be expanded and adjusted according to increased production needs. Many systems can be updated by installing additional palletizing cells or adjusting the system to meet the needs of increased production.

What if the needs of our production change in the future?

Orfer’s robotic palletizing systems are flexible and can be updated, making it possible to adjust them according to changes in production. Additional programs can be installed to allow the robot to handle new products or pallet patterns.

What kinds of premises are suitable for robotic palletizing systems?

Indoor production premises are suitable for Orfer’s robotic palletizing systems. Typically, a minimum 400 cm should be reserved vertically. If the available space is smaller than this, contact Orfer’s specialist. You should reserve at least 13 m2 of floor area for Orfer’s robotic palletizing systems. The indoor temperature should be approximately +3–30°C. The normal humidity in the production premises should not exceed the dew point. Otherwise, this should be mentioned to our specialist. We do not provide solutions for ATEX premises (explosive atmospheres).
